In the second quarter of 2025, fast food and fast casual restaurant apps in New Zealand showed varied performance trends on the Android platform. Here’s a closer look at the top five apps, with data insights provided by Sensor Tower.

McDonald's app experienced a fluctuating trend in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 3.5K and dipping to around 2K before rising again to nearly 3.2K by the end of the quarter. The app maintained a strong presence with weekly active users ranging from 126K to 160K, peaking mid-quarter.

The KFC New Zealand app saw its weekly downloads start at 2.6K, decrease to about 1.5K, and then stabilize around that figure. Active users showed a similar trend, starting at 33K and decreasing to around 21K towards the end of June.

Pizza Hut New Zealand app downloads declined from around 1.5K to less than 1K mid-quarter, before a slight recovery to about 1.1K. Active users, however, increased steadily from 9.3K to over 15K by the end of June.

The Burger King NZ app showed a rise in weekly downloads from 938 to approximately 1.8K, with active users climbing from 14K to 19K over the quarter, indicating growing engagement.

Lastly, Domino's app downloads remained relatively stable, hovering around 700, while its active users increased from 7K to over 10K, suggesting a loyal user base.
